Baby Lucas, 6 days old.

More to come!
Have I mentioned how much I love toddlers? I really really do. Maybe it’s because I know my little guy will be there soon. (Ok, we have about a year to go – but time flies!) Or it could be that I just really love watching their little wobbly steps as the they take on the world. Either way, they make me smile.
Logan was no exception. This kid was a speed demon. If we had let him, I’m pretty sure he could have walked the 7 miles across San Francisco with a smile on his face the entire way. My kind of kid!
Jennifer and Ray, thank you for letting me spend a Sunday morning with you. I can’t wait for round 2!

If there is anything that makes me me crazy enough to think I want another baby – it’s a squishy newborn. Especially one as cute as this!
This little doll was only 6 days old when we did our shoot. And she was a complete doll! Sleepy, bendable, cuddly and just all around cute. Since Erica is a friend of mine, I brought my little six month old over so he could meet his future prom date. Of course my little guy managed to scream through the entire shoot, while sweet little Brooke just snoozed away!
Congratulations again Erica and Dave.

To say that photographing the birth of Brooke was amazing would be downplaying it entirely. It ROCKED.
Erica’s labor was quick. By the time she called me, she’d already had her epidural, and an hour after I arrived she was already 8cm. Shortly after it is was time to start pushing. I thought for sure this little girl would be a July baby. Unfortunately, little Brooke was quite comfortable in her home and took her time coming out. (Holy 3 hours of pushing!)
My favorite part of the entire experience though, was watching their families. Everyone, and I mean everyone, showed up at the hospital and waiting in a tiny room in the middle of the night to get a sneak peek at their Granddaughter/Neice. What an amazing support system in this family.
Erica and Dave are graciously letting me share Brooke’s birth with all of you and I am so greatful! I hope you enjoy it.

I truly truly love what I do. I am allowed to capture things and people that would normally go undocumented. I can experience and then share wonderful experiences. Thank you B family for letting me document your miracle. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl.
And just for fun, here is a little peek at what’s to come.

Dawn gets so much credit in my book for letting ANYONE take her picture at 39 weeks. I personally was a big swollen mess that lived in yoga pants and sneakers at that stage in my pregnancy and I might have broken any camera that tried to record that.
But Dawn was radiant. And she and Devin seemed so genuinely excited to meet their little girl any day now. Since Dawn is now officially overdue, I thought seeing a few of her gorgeous maternity pictures may help!
