There isn’t anything better in the world, in my opinion, than laying by the ocean. I find the salty brine filled air to be intoxicating, the hot sand lukewarm water always lure me into a state of constant happiness. After a week in Cabo, I’m about as relaxed as I can get. Koka and I stayed at the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  It was a spur of the moment decision to go.  Our first trip since having Grayson.  I’m not sure who was more excited… me, or my mother who watched the little guy for us.  I had visions of pool side reading, fruity blended beverages and tons and tons of guacamole.  I was not disappointed!

Now, leave it to a photographer to bring a camera and two lenses, but take only a handful of pictures. What can I say, I was decompressing!

I did manage to sneak my camera out and shoot just a bit behind the overly crowded, tourist filled marina. Even with my husband speaking words of warning about the seedy area, I just had to capture the last market on the ’strip’. You can’t really tell from these images, but there were men with what I can only describe as offices in the half constructed building about the market place.

On the way into Cabo, I thought the open airport was incredibly quaint. Refreshing even now that we’re all so used to the bustling, crazy international airports of the states. However, on the exit trip, after two hours waiting for United Airlines agents to hand write our boarding passes, I was missing a little modern technology!

Adios Mexico.  Until next time….

I was lucky enough to be able to 2nd shoot a wedding with the uber talented, and super wonderful Napa Wedding Photographer, Jennifer Kloss. It amazes me when I realize that I’ve been friends with Jen for 6 years. She’s really is an amazing, wonderful person, photographer, mother, friend…. you get the idea. When she asks me to shoot with her, I jump at the chance. It’s so flattering!

And I can’t help but blog a little taste of the last wedding we shot together. Lindsey and Beau were such an amazingly happy couple and seeing their happiness has really stuck with me. I’ll leave the big post to Jen, but here are a few of my favorites.

You are GORGEOUS Lindsey.  And your dress was AH-MAZING.  Seriously.  You and Oscar do very well together.

And Beau, you’re quite a catch yourself.

They had their ceremony on the balcony at Auberge du Soleil in Napa.  And as always, it was breath taking.  Truly magical.

I feel really lucky to live in California. I’m a warm weather girl. Don’t let my ultra white skin deceive you, I live for the days when you can sit outside and feel the sun on your face. (I just also have to live for the SPF 50 sunscreen and floppy hats thanks to my Irish ancestors.)

Thankfully, Grayson seems to take after me. Although, he wears a hard hat much better than I could.
