Archive for December, 2010

We are almost at the end! Today is the last day of 2010 and it has truly been an incredibly year.

This image is one of my absolute favorites of 2010. It was the very last shot of a long and totally fun shoot. The light was almost gone behind the mountains. It was perfect.

I’ve got something a little different for tomorrow post, which is the last in my week of favorites series. So, stay tuned!

I can’t help it. There are two again today.

This is getting harder and harder as I approach the end of the week. Each time I think I have it narrowed down, I find something else I want to add. I just feel so blessed.

I’m not even sure this needs any explanation. It’s a baby. In a basket. With a giant flower. What’s not to love?

This one makes me laugh every time I see it. Dad was launching his baby into the air, baby was loving it – and mom was trying her best to not panic. Funniest moment ever.

This session was really a dream to shoot. We had beautiful weather, a gorgeous couple, and whole lot of excitement for baby Brody. Add to that boats, a little wind and a wonderful sunset, and you have all the ingredients for a favorite.

Stephanie and Brad choose this location because they grew up in the area and loved this little pier. I love that. And I love their clear and obvious love for each other.

I love so much about this image. I love half smiles and her adoring look. I love the flare. I love that it’s technically wrong. I love all of it. And it is just an extra special bonus to me that this was shot next to the side of a building, down the street from an empty farmers market in not the greatest part of town. You just would never know it from looking at the images.

I have two photos today too. I can’t help it.

This was from my second senior shoot of the year. We traipsed out into a field of completely dirty weeds to get what I thought would be a neat shot. I love everything about both of these. Her expression, the field of mustard flowers, the background – all of it. The clothes are all courtesy of my wonderful hairstylist, Summer Albin, and they’re mostly vintage.

GORGEOUS!

Nothing has made me happier over the last few days than reflecting on 2010 and all it’s wonderful moments. I feel so incredibly blessed to be where I am in life, to have the friends and clients that surrounded me this year, and to be able to do what I truly love. What better way to end the year than to recap my favorite images of 2010. And, it means I’ll be blogging every day this week. (I know, I’m as excited as you are.)

The first set was one of the first newborns of the year. (I really could not pick just one image, I’m sorry.)

It was an incredibly cold and gross day outside. Overcast, raining, just bland and awful. Something about the light inside though was magical. We had the heater cranked up to help Baby Dario sleep and we just ooed and awed every time he cracked a little newborn smile.

There is just something about newborn lips that melt my heart.

The tree is up, the presents are wrapped and cinnamon rolls are in the oven. I hope you all are enjoying the season as much as I am.

Happy Holidays!
