Since I don’t think I say it enough, let me say it again. I LOVE what I do. I love the art that I make, and I love the people who surround me making their own version of art. Its inspiring, motivational and exciting to be in the midst of such incredible talent.

This past week I spent a few days in Las Vegas attending the ever popular WPPI convention and trade show. I sat in on some truly moving and informative classes this year. I left with my a new found desire to dust off my film cameras and give that medium a go again. Overall, I feel like a better person and a better artist because of the great community I count myself a part of.

So basically, a big fat group hug to all my fellow photographers. And to all of you non-photographers who inspire us.

Before I headed to Vegas, I had the chance to capture some maternity pictures for someone truly special. Andrea and I met in college and somehow managed to stay out of trouble. She was the shoulder I leaned on through most of Koka’s military deployments. I was there when she met her husband. She was in my wedding. And I will always think of her like a sister. And I can’t wait to meet her little baby girl.

Andrea, you’re stunning.

Sweet baby Clara was such a dream to capture. She was cuddly and sleepy and oh so cute.

Thank you Janessa for opening up your home and your family to me. I had such a wonderful time getting to meet your newest little bundle of joy.

Hang on to your uterus’s (uteri?) ladies…

This post is about a year late. We started a bathroom remodel LAST february, but it took me almost a year to pick out final odds and ends. And I wasn’t ready to post pictures until I was done. ;) I call myself a perfectionist. My husband just calls me crazy.

And I big huge thank you to Jennifer Bishop. Hiring her was my best. decision. ever.

I have to start by showin you the only before picture we have. It’s from the listing website when we bought the house (in 2005). Please make a lovely mental note of the purple paint, the white tile/grey grout flooring, and the oh so lovely faux marble vanity top.

My absolute favorite detail in the bathroom is the mirror over our vanity. It used to be gold and hanging in my mothers entry way. It’s always my opinion that a little bit of spray paint goes a long way to making almost anything chic.

Kara + Brandon | Engaged

February 4, 2011

After not just one rescheduling, but two, I was super excited to shoot Kara and Brandon’s engagement photos. I knew the two of them would be a blast in front of the camera, and I wasn’t disappointing. I had so much fun wandering around Benicia with you guys. I can’t wait until your wedding!
