It made my heart smile when T told me that she wanted to do some mommy and me pictures with her little girl. As I look back on the last 11 months of my son’s life, I realize that as both the mom and the photographer – I’m all too often behind the camera. And most of my clients tell me they same thing! It always seems to be mom behind the camera.
My favorite part of the shoot, was that T brought her little girl out to Clayton to the very spot where she and her husband were married. T’s face lit up when we got there. I love when my clients pick meaningful locations for the pictures. I think the emotional attachment always shows through.

Thank you T for spending the afternoon with me!

There are some people in the world that are sickeningly photogenic. They have no bad angles. They have perfect skin. They really just glow. I myself am not one of these rare, perfect, creatures. My goofy self requires lots of retouching! Lucky for me, Joslyn is almost disgustingly photogenic. I’m pretty sure a bad photo of her has never been taken! See, we’re friends on Facebook. I’ve seen photos of her. I knew she was gorgeous. But I really had no idea.
But really, I should have known that anyone who names their child Grayson is one of the coolest people on the planet. I mean, I did. So, I swear it’s cool.
Our day couldn’t have been more fun. And for all of your East Coasters with you perfect fall colors – I have now found a solution! Grapes. Perfectly fall colored vineyards are the new West Coast solution to seasonal colors. I love it. (Although, Domain Carneros is gorgeous any time of year!)

I’m pretty sure J should model.

Thank you D family for spending a Sunday with me. (And trusting me when I asked you to stand new the stinky wood!) I had a blast!

I really like families. I love to watch the dynamics between boys and their moms and husbands with their wives. I have so much fun finding out what silly things dads are willing to do to get a smile out of their babies. It just makes me happy. What can I say, I’m a sap!
Watching Sarah and Zak with their baby Aaron was no different. A is such a happy little guy! And I’m convinced it’s because S and Z are just happy people themselves. They were so fun to hang out with and I’m so glad they wanted to shoot at the University of Santa Clara. It is such a beautiful campus.
Thank you P family for being yourselves and letting me capture purely you.

From the moment Ari pulled Cameron out of the car, I knew I was in for it. I’m now 100% positive that if you pull out your dictionary and flip to the “S” section, you’ll find a picture of this little guy right next to the word, “Spitfire”. I truly don’t think there is a more perfect example than Cameron. I had so much fun at this shoot chasing after him, learning the proper way to wield a stick as a sword and the fastest way to scale a fallen tree branch. I did find a few knots in my stomach at the thought of my sweet little Grayson adopting Cameron’s style in a few short months, but if he’s as sweet as Cameron in the process, than I can’t complain!
Isn’t C just too sweet?

And we can’t forget about baby brother Oliver.

Nothing like a little brotherly love!

What do ruined Thanksgivings dinners have in common with photoshoots? Ok, honestly not much, but J and I did spend a good 15 minutes comparing war stories about the food holiday. And it was hilarious. (Is there anything funnier than forgotten innards? I think not.) I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I love my clients. They crack me up! I have a mush 13 year old girl crush on all of them.
I was lucky enough to get a SECOND chance to shoot little miss Charlotte right after her first birthday. She has always been a doll and now that she’s all over the place, I’m pretty sure she’s even cuter. She’s so curious! And happy to get into anything she could find.
Thank you D family for letting me drag you around San Francisco – and even braving the Chinatown grounds! I had a blast.

There are two things that I really love. Ok, strike that. I’m a loving person, there are lots and lots of things I love…. coffee, purses, shoes, pumpkin pie, trashy reality tv shows… you get the idea… But two things I really love are babies and baskets. Preferably together. And putting them together, outdoors makes me giddy with glee. (Glee! That’s another thing I love!) But I digress.
I was lucky enough to shoot 6 gorgeous families on mini session day. I don’t know HOW I got so lucky, but I did. And I’m loving it!
The C family came bright and early for the shoot – and even dressed up! Aren’t they adorable. And little miss S just melted my heart. I think baby fever is an occupational hazard these days.

I can’t tell if I like this series better in color or black and white. Such a gorgeous baby!
