I tend to shy away from online sneak peaks. I think there is something amazing about seeing you gallery of images, in its entirety, for the first time. It should be emotional and exciting.

But Maddy’s session just blew me away.  She is truly so beautiful.  Inside and out.

Dara was a dream to photograph. She was full of energy, always had a smile ready and up for anything and everything I asked her to do. (Wildflowers and all.) There really isn’t much I love more than a rolling hills and sunshine. Add in a high school senior willing to skip and twirl down a pebble path and I’m in Heaven.

Dara, thank you for making me smile.

It has been a long time since I loaded a roll of film. And I’ve never posted any of my film images on my blog. I shoot mainly digital for all of my clients, and I didn’t feel right about posting film. I was worried it would confuse people! But I love shooting film. I honestly love the sound of an advancing roll. The thought and consideration needed when I composed my images and the suspense of waiting for the roll to come back in the mail with my pictures. I’m vowing now to shoot more film. Both for myself and for my lovely clients. I’m convinced you all will love the results as much as I have.

This image is from a recent Northgate High School senior portrait session that I’m working on. It’s completely unedited and straight from the scans I received back from Richard Photo Lab in Los Angeles.

Don’t worry, more from this session comming soon!

Thanks to the wonders of technology, this post is appearing while I’m 30,000 feet in the air, on my way to Las Vegas.  (For geeky photography reasons. WPPI!) I couldn’t leave without just a little sneak peak at yesterday’s session.
