I have to just start by saying there are some people that I just can’t help but love. Sometimes I meet with a client and I’m pretty sure we must have been best friends in a previous life. That’s pretty much how I feel about Weezie.

I met Weezie at Lauren and Dmitriy’s wedding in June and I thought she was a barrel of fun even then. When she contacted me for a maternity session, I basically jumped for joy.  She and her husband wanted relaxed, lifestyle photos in their adorable home in San Francisco and a few sunset images at Crissy field with they equally adorable pup, Lila. (You know I’m a sucker for dogs, right?)  I’m pretty sure we nailed it.

Weezie, thank you for being a blast.  You are adorable and I can’t wait to meet your little girl.

This session, hands down, is a favorite. Maddy was a blast to shoot, a natural in front of the camera and an all around great girl. Plus, she’s gorgeous!

To me, this picture is perfection. Between the creamy skin, the amazing hair, the perfect angle and the “almost” expression, it just takes my breath away.

Everything about this session was a dream. (You may even remember this gorgeous family from last years list of favorites!) This was the very end of the day, right as the sun was setting behind the mountains and baby Brody was starting to get tired. Everything just came together for the shot on the left. Definitely one of my favorites!

I had so much fun last year spending a week chronicling my favorite images of 2010. I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to do it all over again for 2011. This was such an incredibly fulfilling year for me. I feel so incredibly humbled and blessed that I was able to accomplish so many of my goals and I truly enjoyed getting so know so many new clients and friends.  I have a big, huge cyber hug for all of you for following along with my journey.  (Seriously, you only think I’m kidding.) So, get ready folks, there is a week of fun headed your way!

Dara’s shoot was so. much. fun.  It was the perfect senior session to kick off my year, and my week of favorites. (And yes, I have problems only picking one.)

Sometimes, the outtakes are the best part of the shoot. If you can let go of your control, and embrace the moment – be it silly, loving or sad – you may be surprised at the results. Both of these images are far from perfect. But I love them. And they both represent me.

These images are included on my feed as part of the ClickinMom’s Daily Project. You can see more lovely photographers on their site, here.

It always makes my heart happy when I get a call from a previous client. I feel like I get these amazing little glimpses into so many wonderful peoples’ lives and I always want to know how everyone is doing after our shoots. (To all my wonderful clients, I’m serious! Send me updates. I want to see your family grow, your babies start to walk, and any and all new pets that join your nest.)

You may remember Laura and Ross from their shoot with me last year. I was so incredibly excited to hear from Laura and thrilled for them that they were expecting a little girl. Getting to spend the morning with such wonderful new parents who are simply overwhelmed with love for their new child, exhausted, generally just in awe amazes me. Children are such a gift. And I’m reminded of their greatness every time I’m around them.

Lauren and Ross, thank you for allowing me into your family for a day. I truly enjoyed seeing you both so happy.

And of course the pups had to get in on the action.  Plus, I’m just a sucker for a cute, squishy dog face.

There is just something about how fabulous this girl and her family are. It could be the gorgeous red hair. It might be the cute clothes and fun jewelry. But I’m pretty sure, it has a lot more to do with their wonderful sense of humor, their ability to genuine kindness and their closeness to each other.

I had such a good time getting to know Maddy, her mom Tiffany (who by the way is a fantastic instructor at the Dailey Method in Danville!), and her adorable younger sister. Thank you all for spending the day with me.
