Today is the final day in my favorites series and I’m devoting it to all my favorites that I couldn’t squeeze into seven days. Thank you, to all of you, for helping me make 2011 such an amazing and fulfilling year. Here’s to 2012 being wonderful as well!

Everything about this session was a dream. (You may even remember this gorgeous family from last years list of favorites!) This was the very end of the day, right as the sun was setting behind the mountains and baby Brody was starting to get tired. Everything just came together for the shot on the left. Definitely one of my favorites!

Every year I hit the middle of October and feel so incredibly happy to do what I do. It is right smack dab in the middle of the holiday photo rush and I just adore seeing all of my favorite clients (and some new faces) in front of my camera. I get a chance to see some of the newborn faces looking decidedly less baby like and some of special babies who’ve bloomed into toddlers. I love every second of it!

Last weekend, one of my favorite clients, Lindsy, brought her brood out for a mini session. You all may remember a Lindsy from either her ridiculously cute maternity session, or possibly from her wonderfully real newborn session last December.  Aren’t they cute?

I have a million things on my to do list today and I was starting to feel just a touch overwhelmed.  But I had to stop for a second, enjoy the fact that I get an opportunity to be doing what I LOVE surrounded by incredibly gorgeous, fun people – and put these guys up on the blog.  This morning, I got to snuggle and love a perfect 10 day old baby girl.  Friday, I’m capturing a senior session with one of the most hilarious 18 year olds I’ve ever met.  And Saturday, I’m shooting a wedding with another incredibly talented photographer. My life may be chaotically busy these day, but really, life is good.

On this day, 10 years ago I went on a first date with my future husband.  And we showed up wearing the same sweatshirt!  It was fate.  It amazes me to think that this month we’re celebrating not only a decade of knowing each other, but 6 years of marriage.   I truly feel honored and blessed to have such a wonderful man, husband, father to share my life with.

Thank you Koka for filling my life with your love.

Our lives have changed and grown so dramatically in 10 years. Since I don’t share nearly enough photos of myself, how about a walk down visual memory lane?

In December 2001 I brought Koka to my company christmas party.  This is the first picture I have of us as a couple.  Isn’t he cute? Even ten years later, I can still remember how handsome I thought he looked in that tux. I felt so incredibly lucky that he would even notice me.

In 2003, Koka was called to serve in Iraq. This is us, just before he and his unit left for training and then a 16 month deployment. It’s also proof that short hair should always be straightened. :)

goodbye

In 2004, when Koka’s unit finally arrived home, a photographer from the San Jose Mercury News caught this image amazing image of his homecoming. This picture encomapasses so many of the emotions I felt on that day. It still makes my stomach flutter to see it.

6 years ago, Koka and I were married. It was such a phenomonal and breathtaking day. If I could do it again, I would. In a heartbeat. (Images by Jack Hecker)

And finally, our holiday photo from last Christmas. It still takes my breath away to be a part of this amazing family. family photo

Today, I’m a happy girl.

When Melissa called me to tell me Baby Oliver had made an early appearance, I was so incredibly excited to meet the little guy. Melissa and Ron were so much fun during their maternity session, I was overflowing with anticipation for this shoot.  And I was not disappointed.  I had such a good time seeing how much these two took to being parents.  There is so clearly an amazing amount of love in that house.  It made my heart happy.

Melissa, your little guy is an absolute angel and it was truly a joy to meet him.

It all started with a weekend away with 9 other amazing photographers. It’s turning into a blog full of eye candy.

I was incredibly fortunate to be able to attend a workshop last month with an amazing group of artists. I was so inspired with the talents of these lovely ladies and basically, I realized that I rarely pick up my camera any more to shoot for myself. That’s how the CMPro Daily Project idea was born. It’s turned into so much inspiration and I’m incredibly grateful to be included. (Hello, amazing artistic talents.)

It’s been an amazing outlet and learning tool for me. A place to shoot for me and not worry about how the images will be received or if they are perfect. If you have a moment, please take a peak! (You can see my stream of images HERE. )

So now, I urge you all to go forth and find a similar project! Pick up your point and shoot, your fancy DSLR, or even you camera phone; it doesn’t matter! No one is grading you. Just shoot and document the moments around you. And if you’re so inclined there are so many great (And free!) resources out there to start a blog with your all of your moments. If you haven’t already, I urge you all to start one for yourself. (Check out Tumblr for a great picture oriented blog. Or Wordpress if you’re thinking you’d like to do some customizing.)

So as I push myself to not only shoot more, but to shoot for ME, you may see more of my little family gracing the blog. I hope you enjoy it!

I’m giddy with excitment to be featured on the On to Baby blog. On to Baby, created by the lovely ladies behind The Wedding Chicks, is full of eye candy for all things baby and maternity. It’s an honor to be a part of their story.
