I absolutely love when I get to spend a day with repeat clients. It feels so much more like hanging out with good friends than anything close to actual work. Gabriela and her brood were no exception. I love seeing them! Plus, they let me take them to really great placesand have no problem planting themselves in the dirt for me. (For that, I’m extra grateful!)

For this session, we headed out to the incredibly gorgeous park next to the Berkeley Marina. Hello city views!

Gabriela, thank you for being such a good sport, a wonderful person and an incredibly awesome baby maker. If Dario goes missing, you’ll know where to find him!

It always bums me out that we don’t have more of a Cherry Blossom season here in San Francisco. And this year, with our freaky rainy-to-100-degree weather changes, we had even less of a season! Thankfully, I was able to convince Michelle to meet me out by the 5 cherry blossom trees in my area for a quick (And incredibly early morning!) session a few months back. Have I mentioned how much I love telling people to meet me at dawn? OK, maybe it’s slightly evil, but I love it. And really, the light doesn’t get much better then when you can watch the sun cresting over the mountains. Michelle and Matt, thank you so much for being such good sports!

I was so excited to see Stephanie and her family again. The last time we met little Reese was still snuggling up in mama’s belly. Now, she’s a cute as can be baby with a big personality.

Stephanie, I had a blast wondering the hills with you and your little ones. I can’t wait to see you again later this year!

Since I don’t think I say it enough, let me say it again. I LOVE what I do. I love the art that I make, and I love the people who surround me making their own version of art. Its inspiring, motivational and exciting to be in the midst of such incredible talent.

This past week I spent a few days in Las Vegas attending the ever popular WPPI convention and trade show. I sat in on some truly moving and informative classes this year. I left with my a new found desire to dust off my film cameras and give that medium a go again. Overall, I feel like a better person and a better artist because of the great community I count myself a part of.

So basically, a big fat group hug to all my fellow photographers. And to all of you non-photographers who inspire us.

Before I headed to Vegas, I had the chance to capture some maternity pictures for someone truly special. Andrea and I met in college and somehow managed to stay out of trouble. She was the shoulder I leaned on through most of Koka’s military deployments. I was there when she met her husband. She was in my wedding. And I will always think of her like a sister. And I can’t wait to meet her little baby girl.

Andrea, you’re stunning.

Erin may be the funniest person I know. Seriously. And she’s a hitter. So if she’s telling a joke, either brace for the punch line impact, or get out of her way! And that cracks me up even more. I don’t think I’ve ever spend any other hour of my life laughing as hard as I did at their session.

Now Jackie, at 2 and a half is pretty much just adorable. She thought the chickens were her new BFFs. And she wanted to tell me all about Thomas the Train. It’s a good thing I’m well versed in the Tank Engine and his many, many friends.

Thank you Erin for being up at the crack of dawn to meet me. I’m so glad we missed the rain!

Thanks to the wonders of technology, this post is appearing while I’m 30,000 feet in the air, on my way to Las Vegas.  (For geeky photography reasons. WPPI!) I couldn’t leave without just a little sneak peak at yesterday’s session.
